Animé Review: Shadow Skill

Sephy: * Purin: ** Fuji: ***
WAY too bloody!!! The movie is based on a fighting school founded by female slaves in chains,
the Karuda School of Combat Killing. I’m sorry, but female warriors should NOT have a ditzy personality
that rivals C-ko!!! The plot (or lack there of) was really... really... bad!!!
The blood that came out of all of the characters would normally drain any normal person.
Then some dark army that combines into a huge wolfman... that gets killed by a guy who just stands there!!!
It was just... wrong!!!
BATTLE SQUARE
Sephy: We have the battle to decide the strongest tongue fighter in the Nintendo Universe- Yoshi (Super Mario Brothers) and Lickitung (Pokémon).
Yoshi: Yoshi!
Lickitung: Lickitung!
Sephy: Is it just me, or do these two seem related?
Purin: Pokémon can only talk in their own languages, except for some Meowth, Ghastly, and Mewtwo.
Fuji: Go Yoshi, go!
Sephy: Yoshi is also inhibited to only say his name...
Yoshi: Yosh! *tongue lashes Lickitung*
Lickitung: *uses the ghost attack lick attack on Yoshi*
Sephy: Oh? Is Yoshi shaking? He’s paralyzed!!!
Yoshi: *is fully paralyzed!!!*
Lickitung: *uses stomp attack on Yoshi*
Sephy: Yoshi’s done for!!! Nothing can save him now!!!
Yoshi: YOSHI!!! *slurps up Lickitung*
Sephy: D-did Yoshi just EAT that Lickitung?!
Yoshi: BURP!!! *shoots Lickitung out of the arena*
Fuji: Yeah!!! I knew Yoshi would win, ‘cause Yoshi’s old school!!! Right, Pikachu, pay up!!! *Pikachu gives Fuji 5 yen*
Pikachu: Chu!!! *snaps fingers*
Sephy: It’s unfortunate that our winner can’t say any victory words...
Yoshi: *in a proper and snooty British accent* Well, actually, I can say more, but I just prefer to say my name over and over until a cow lands on me.
Sephy: So... what are going to say?
Yoshi: YOSHI!!!
Purin: I finally caught a Tauros!!! *releases the pokéball and the Tauros falls on Yoshi*
Sephy: Okay... That wraps up yet another Battle Square!!!
Preview: Pokémon Gold/Silver
This game will be coming out (hopefully) in the fall of 2000.
This is basically the Red and Blue versions with different Pokémon.
It also has pre-evolutions of some of our favorite Pokémon, such as Pichu (lower level Pikachu),
Pupurin (lower level Jigglypuff), and Electid (lower level Electrabuzz).
In addition to that, there are more elements, such as the dark (formally ghost) and steel.
In this newer version, you are given Pokégear, a radio/telephone/clock contraption.
With an added feature of night and day, you can find more and different types of Pokémon based on
what time of day it is. Unfortunatly, the version that we were utilizing was... mostly untranslated.
We still had fun with it, and we can’t even begin to imagine how much more fun a fully translated
version could be!!! Supposedly, there are three legendary cat-type Pokémon.
Blue Magic - Sing (Jigglypuff)
Jigglypuff’s sing attack is utilized as a sleep spell in the Pokémon world.
Other Pokémon, such as Chansey, Clefairy, Lapras, and Jynx, have been known to use this attack.
Basically, it bores the enemy into submission.
Purin: *clears throat and holds up microphone*
Sephy: *smacks Purin upside the head* Nope! None of that while I’m here! NO SINGING!!!
Purin: *walks off sadly* Puff...
Closing: At Belldandy’s temple...
Sephy: Well... that wraps up another issue!!!

*a fish jumps out of the koi pond and flops back into the water* Pass me another piece of cake, Belldandy!!!
Bell: I’m worried about the fish... I think that it’s suicidal... *hands Fuji the cake*
Purin: I’M GOING TO BLAST YOU WITH THE 57 JIGGLYPUFF OF APOCALYPSE!!!
Sephy: Out the window you go!!! *throws Purin out the window and manages to knock the fish onto the land, but Purin’s in the koi pond*
Purin: *the fish is glowing* OH NO!!! IT’S GOING TO EVOLVE INTO GYRADOS AND EAT US ALL!!! *it grows legs and walks off* ...or maybe... not...
Everyone else: *sweat drop*
